Welcome to the Thanet Community Support Partnership (TCSP) area of our website. Below is a brief introduction to the services we provide. For a more in-depth look at the TCSP, we warmly invite you to visit our official website, here.
We established the TCSP in response to difficulties reported by Thanet’s older people in gaining access to the services they needed. For the last five years we have coordinated a partnership of thirteen key organisations who promote independent living by providing practical and emotional support.
Following on from the recent excellent news that funding has been secured from the Big Lottery Fund, we are now pressing ahead with developing and enhancing the TCSP.
We have a group of new team members working at the Thanet Volunteer Bureau, each with dedicated roles within the project.
These are the main areas of the TCSP at the moment:
- Co-ordinating and maintaining an efficient central referrals service, designed to act as the central point of contact for all older people’s services in Thanet
- Developing the Thanet Over Fifties Forum (or “TOFFs” for short) to engage, and represent the interests of, older people across the Isle – including provision of talks on important subjects like pensions and social care provision
- An exciting programme of social activities – including the popular weekly “Your Time” sessions on Wednesday afternoons – aimed at reducing loneliness and social isolation and strengthening community bonds
If you would like to know more about the services we provide, or how you can get involved, we would very much look forward to hearing from you. Our phone number is 01843 609337 – or you can simply email the TCSP project coordinator, Chris, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
